Watch for the Bluetooth icon on the scale. It lights up to the left of the weight number. When Bluetooth is working and the icon is lit, the scale should work properly and transmit data to the tablet.
If the scale is getting an error or not recording weight accurately, try each of these techniques:
If the error is, “No device. Please connect device,” have the patient tap OK, then Back, then Use Device. Then try again.
If the weight showing is about twice what it should be, the scale is probably using pounds instead of kilograms. Use these steps to fix:
Tap Weight, then Use Device.
On the page that says to tap the scale, in the upper right, tap the Gear icon. The Settings window appears.
In the list of options, tap Unit.
Tap kg(s). Then tap Settings at the top of the window.
At the top of the Settings window, tap Cancel. You return to the page to tap the scale and should be able to proceed normally and weight in kilograms.
Make sure the patient is not taking a measurement on carpet.
Take out the scale’s batteries, wait 1 minute and put them back in. (If this makes the scale stop working altogether, make sure the batteries are going the right way.)
Press the dark gray Set button on the scale for 10 seconds. It is inside the battery compartment.
If tapping the scale isn’t making the scale light come on, try just standing on the scale. The scale may respond.
Reboot the tablet. The kit comes with a one-sheet guide illustrating how to reboot.
Change the scale’s batteries.
